성탄이 오는 12월은...

한해를 탕진하고 돌아오는 탕자에게는 금방 눈이라도 올 것 같은 기대와 긴장이 엇갈리는 부드러운 어머니 품속 같은 감싸주는 겨울 구름이 더 포근하다.

허물도 좌절도 조용히 덮어주고 안 보는척 감싸주는 팔벌리고 기다리는 대문 활짝 열어 놓으신 아버지의 넓으신 이해와 용납하시는 넓으신 가슴으로 달려와 다시 안기고 싶기 때문이다.

12월은 다시 한번 제 모습으로 돌아오는 귀향길이다. 모래성 속에 모래 바람 모래시계속으로 흘러버린 허무한 5공6공같은 공허의 삶을 돌이킬수 있는 회귀와 회복의 달이다.

It's time to return.

그래서 성탄은 예수성탄은 인간성숙을 매듭짓는 12월에 있다.

가장 허망한 달, 허무한 달을 가장 의미있는 달로 내가 다시 예수로 태어나서 가장 기쁜 축제 인생을 회복 할수 있기 때문이다.

가장 슬픈 달을 온 세상이 들뜨도록 기쁨이 넘치게 하는 크리스마스. 그렇게도 나에게만 몰두하다 정신을 차리고 다른 사람을 위해 무엇인가를 주고 싶은 계절

잊혀진 사람 미워진 사람 싫어진 사람 에게도 굳어진 마음이 열려 훈훈한 옛정을 회복 시켜주는 계절

온통 깜깜한 밤같은 세상에 밤불을 밝혀 가장 어두운 밤의 달을 가장 밝은 달로 슬픈 노래로 부른 탄식을 바꾸어 기쁨의 노래로 캐롤로 적막한 세상이 환희의 노래를 다시 찾는 계절

그것은 오직 예수 오심, 말씀이 육신이 되어 아버지의 사랑을 알게 하신 그 예수님 때문이다.

크리스마스는 예수님 탄생으로 내가 다시 태어 나는 성탄이다.

A Christmas Blessing

December, the month Christmas comes, Is better When its buried in fog, low and soft, in a cloud That has come down, than if the sky is clear and blue. To the prodigal son returning after a year of squandering The winter cloud, giving at once hope and tension As if its about to snow, protective like mothers tender bosom, Feels softer.

Understanding and forgiving bosom - the Father Who has left the door wide open, who waits With open arms, who silently overlooks his mistakes And shields him form failures as if he doesnt see them. December is the road home By which we return to our original selves.

Its the month of revolution and recovery, where we can reflect On our life of emptiness, on vanity that is like Fifth and Sixth Republic drained inside the hourglass: Sand storm in a sand castle, Its time to return.

That is why Christmas, the birth of Christ, is in December, When our human maturity is brought to a conclusion. Thats because this month most vain and futile can be made The most meaningful by our being born again As Jesus, By recovering a joyous, festive life. Christmas - that which makes the saddest month Overflow with joy, that which makes the whole world walk on air. Its a season when, after being so wrapped up in ourselves, We come to our senses and want To give something to others;

A season when your hardened heart opens up and restores The warm affections of yesterday - even to

The person forgotten, The person hated, The person estranged; A season when light brightens up a world that is as dark As night, when the days of the darkest night changes into The brightest days, when songs of lamentation change Into songs of happiness, into carols, when this desolate world Finds songs of joy once again;

That is only because Jesus came, the Word that became flesh and showed us the love Of our Father - because of that Jesus, Christmas is a rebirth where I am born again with the birth of Jesus.
